Anyhow, back to polytunnels. Mr VVG and I are going for the 3 x 6m (length is a consideration) and we've ordered. Not bothering with the table as I don't want the potential for damage as in DD's post above. Have opted for both length and width trellis cables. Also gone for two doors, one with mesh. We've decided to put it up ourselves, which takes off £300, but it means we now have to hire a Tonka Toy mini digger to break up an old area of hard standing. Mr VVG is very excited. So am I, but for different reasons.Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better...Albert Einstein

How come? Not 'having a go' or owt, just genuinely curious
If we could have one on the allotment, it would be a much cheaper and bog standard poly. But we are not allowed.Last edited by VirginVegGrower; 22-04-2012, 07:08 PM.Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better...Albert Einstein

'Ordinary' polytunnels don't blow away, even in extreme gales. The only problem That might occur is if something flew into it at high speed, but that would damage whatever you had.
If the Haygrove is what you want, that's grand, I just wouldn't want anyone to get the impression that a normal tunnel isn't suitable for a windy spot. Have a look at First's Facebook page, you'll see people siting them in all sorts of extreme places. And where a First tunnel can go, so can most other supplier's.

I think most people make their own mind up based on their circumstances and available finance. The other polytunnels I have looked at wouldn't last five minutes up in my garden. As I stressed at the start of the thread, I'm not interested in other polys, I was after the Haygrove owners' opinions on whether they considered them worth the money.Last edited by VirginVegGrower; 23-04-2012, 12:03 AM.Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better...Albert Einstein
