  • Buying greenhouses

I'm getting (slowly) nearer to to purchasing my GH but still need a bit of help. I looked in a Dobbies GC where they stock the "solway" which I think is an Elite make. Does any one know this GH? Also I tried on the web and it seem to come up as "rhino". Are the one and the same thing? My son says he thinks they are expensive for what they are, and I should be able to get in cheaper elsewhere.
what does everyone (well, almost) think about this, and am I correct?

    Thanks grapes for your help.

    Annie.

I got 2 off freecycle.... so only cost me a few panes of glass ... just a thought

Just going to suggest that myself Redthorn.

No matter what greenhouse you buy, you always end up wishing you had bought a larger one! Cheers, Tony.

I got mine from This company. Very pleased with the service and the price.

I got my lean-to from the Greenhouse People. Their Hercules range have a very similar specification to the Rhino. They always seam to have special and clearance offers.

I have an elite compact one - it's got high eves and it's a funny size ( something like 5 by 6 as I had to squeeze it into a gap).

It was quite dear if I remember rightly but it's got double doors which is useful.

oh on ething I meant to add is that if you want to collect rain from the roof you have to shell out to get a special gutter kit as the guttering is semicicular rather than square and the standard kits don't fit it.

                  Buying greenhouses

Thanks grapes for all the help. Most of them are around the price of the one I looked at, at Dobbies, Cirencester and price includes delivery. I have looked at various exchange and freebee sites but I don't have transport to take it home. Anyroadup, I found all the advice very useful, and if anyone else wants to throw in their sixpenny worth, I shall read it when I next get to my computer. Thanks, thanks, thanks.
