  • Bargain polytunnels?!

Look what I found: Polytunnel Greenhouses - Buy Online

They look pretty basic - no crop bars, base rails etc, and on the commercial sized ones, you don't even get door frames, but... at less than £500 for a 14ft x 36ft tunnel (which does come with door frames), seems worth consideration to me!

"All our polytunnels are very strong structures and will withstand the strongest of gales and biggest of storms with ease."

I wonder if it really would! We certainly have the place if they want to test it out!

they also sell on ebay and have a picture taken showing the inside of the tunnels they sell.

      NEW 14FT X 36FT POLYTUNNEL KIT - GREENHOUSE POLY TUNNEL | eBay

i saw them while browsing for the cheap one i bought a while ago and the company name seemed familiar.
i like the look of them, but know nothing much about the pro tunnels other than want one one day.

Can second that, if they want a test winter here's a worthy test Or they could try Port Hedland way, but not sure they're designed for cat 4 to 5 cyclones

EDIT: Sorry got nothing constructive to add Sarz

Never test the depth of the water with both feet

The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory....

I'm actually strongly considering one at the mo. I'm just trying to strike up the bottle to build one

I certainly have a 'very' windy paddock to test it out properly !

If I had one piece of advice.... That would be to prep the ground first!
When I was building mine, I leveled the ground out (sort of)
Dug the wholes for were the legs had to go plus leveled.
But didn't account for the drop off down one side.
I can fit my hand under the timber frame (on some parts)

Won't be making the same mistake on the next one

I think the biggest challenge of building the school's polytunnel was making sure the foundation tubes were square to each other! Getting it level wasn't such a big deal as we had a massive plank and a spirit level

As a comparison to these, most of the big tunnel suppliers charge £600 - £700 for a basic 14x36 tunnel with no extras, same steel strength (although some have bigger diameter tubing).
