Two cats fighting each other - one on the outside - one on the inside!

All those tiny little holes! It's taken me ages to make repairs. I'm so disappointed because my cats have been really well behaved in there up to now: only sleeping in trays I put in specifically for the job: not digging in the beds, now I'm going to have to start chasing them out which they won't understand. Oh well c'est la vie (no Welsh equivalent)

What can I say.
I have 2 cats and they are the bane of my life.
My grandson had a cat that had a litter of 4 kittens and his mother insisted she could'nt keep the 4 kittens so, silly me offered to take 2 of them. That was 9 years ago.
While they have given us a lot of joy they are a persecution to anyone who is trying to keep a garden and greenhouse.
\they are into the greenhouse every chance they get. Lying in the flowerpots, and digging up every bit of newly turned soil.
Cats and gardens just don't go together i'm afraid.

Would you get some netting and stretch it over the door to keep them out? Lidl or Aldi were selling pond netting recently that could do the job nicely. Would keep birds out too but let insects in.

Poor you! I'd been thinking that the kelpies will be a problem (they do like a warm spot too) and the pup is still very boisterous, but it sounds like the cats will be just as bed.

About 2 months after putting our polytunnel up, one of our dogs tore a hole in the side to get to a cat that was in there (huge doors were wide open, but he went through it anyway). Given that he is a fully grown male Boxer, you can imagine the size of the hole.... £150 repair bill...

It is now completely fenced off from the dogs....

We have spent the weekend making it chicken proof - they WILL dustbath around the tomatoes...

Interestingly, the chickens don't touch the tomato plants, or the herbs Ive got in there - just the pepper and chilli plants.....

As I have said elsewhere, the worst I've heard is my friend whose horse got in at one end and came out the side rather tham keeping going!

We've used 1-inch square plastic release-pen/aviary netting over our tunnel doors to keep the chickens out...

It's on hooks at the top and weighted with some lengths of wood we had hanging around, then weighted with bricks and wood at the bottom. On the large door, we've secured the sides as well, to stop determined chickens and ducks...

So far it has worked! It's been up since Saturday afternoon and there have been no incursions!

Allotment neighbour made the mistake of overwintering his poultry in a polytunnel. Fox cut a fox shaped hole in it and demolished his chickens!

My chooks were in a glass greenhouse for winter.......but I still had chicken mesh around it!

What ARE the downsides to growing in a polytunnel tho? Watering could be a chore, and buid up of salts in the soil I would imagine.Ventilation could be a bit awkward also methinnks?
