  • Why are my toms dropping off?

My Apero cherry tomato plant has several trusses of green fruit on it, but every time I go into the polytunnel, it seems some have dropped off!

I water regularly and feed weekly with the recommended dilution of liquid tom feed.

Any ideas as to what's causing this?

Sorry, I'm not sure, I presume the plants have green healthy growth and no yellowing leaves? A picture would help. You could also try asking Mr Tomato King, his blog has a problem page.

It your watering regime is OK it may be lack of calcium. Calcuim is what helps fruits to ripen and grow.

Funny you should say that I have seen somewhere recommending Tums tablets.

Some recommend crushed egg shells around the base of the plant. I do know that a spray with Epsom salts helps the take up of available calcium and will also add magnesium.

A google will give you lots of info.
