never thought of the timber option so its off to wicks for some timber and silicone
as you say they do look a bit of a pain to build so i think i will finish the base and leave the greenhouse till my next long weekend off work that gives me four days to sort it
let you know how i get on
    many thanks

looking through the threads and came across this one
now here comes my first daft newbie question
just put a base in like the one currysniffa shows using high density blocks
any advice on the best way to fasten the base to the blocks and is it best to fasten the base first then build the greenhouse on top or build the greenhouse first then fasten it all down its a poly carbonate one
      thanks for any advice
      richie
Make a frame of 1x1 timber, fix that to the blocks and then fix the house to the timber, helps to cut down(not stop) the condensation too.

EDIT: Also, if your brickwork is like mine, it helps to level it nicely too, use a bit of cement to fill in under the blocks to fill it it. (I used a fair bit )

              hi all
well the greenhouse is up and running after a bit of f***ing and blinding it all came into place
thanks to all for the tips and advice used blocks then 2x1 timber screwed base down was not to keen on the clips supplied to fasten frame to base so drilled through and bolted it down panels are a tight fit but still going to sillicone all round
off work today so will spend the day sorting seeds and get some growing done
              cheers again
