Went to pick up my watering can from the greenhouse floor and saw attached to it a long cobweb. Took a closer look and millions of tiny yellow spiders ran in every direction.. ....what are they??????

The lad next door to me had these in his chicken run and hut! Someone told him (wrongly I believe!) they were chicken mites, so he got rid of them! How???? He burnt his hut to the ground!!!
My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)
I had a spider's next in the hallway when the children were small. They'd just read Charlotte's Web at school, and as they spotted it before I did I was forbidden to get rid of it. When the spiderlings hatched they used to wander about a foot or so from the next (attached by their little threads) and as soon as there was a disturbance of any sort they all scurried back to their home nest or web. Fascinating, and fortunately I'm not scared of spiders. I would leave then alone - they don't damage plants and unfortunately most of them won't survive anyway. Spiders do a good job of trapping aphids and nasties so I usually try to avoid disturbing them.
They are everywhere this year! I've got colonies in the greenhouse, in the shed, on my baby brassicas... I even went to the pub and found some next to where I was sitting!
I have little tiny yellow 'spiderlings' on my new strawberries - I was worried they'd destroy them but it seems not so I'll leave them in peace, unless someone here tells me they just love strawberries of course!!
Life may not be the party we hoped for but since we're here we might as well dance
