Converting a garden shed to a potting shed

Hi - have been reading old threads on similar builds but couldn't find anything to match. I have an 8' x 6' barna shed, pretty standard - something like this ...

I havn't the funds or room for a greenhouse out the back so was thinking of modifying the shed. Possibly replacing the lefthand side (which faces south) and the lefthand side of the roof with rigid plastic of some sort. Best of both worlds hopefully.

Anyone done this before?

Thanks for any advise on materials/ideas etc.

I do indeed. But with only the south facing side converted, and with more of the surfaces in plastic than in that photo. Wonder if barna sheds are sturdy enough to be pulling apart.

I did mine a few years ago... i took off the top half of the planking and the roof and replaced with clear plastic sheets (corrugated for the roof). works fine as a potting shed/cold greenhouse.

Cheers roger. Ws thinking of the corrugated stuff. Did you do anything about the 'bumps' like seal them up at the ends to keep the roof waterproof?

Nope, Redser, i use it as a cold greenhouse for hardening off. I Took off the apex roof and put on a sloping one to catch the water, using corrugated plastic, leaving lots of gaps to allow any wind to get out if we had a gale.

Not sure what size you need but you can buy polycarb sheets.
