Renting a polytunnel

Hi Guys

was wondering if anybody rents a polytunnel from somewhere like a nursery etc

i may have the oppurtunity to rent an unused polytunnel on the site of a ceased trading nursery
it will have water facilitys etc but i have no clue what would i should be paying.
will be veiwing it soon and would like to have an idea ?
obviously size matters and apparently it is one of the larger ones you would see on a fully functional nursery

any ideas ??

Find out what they suggest - suck your breath in and offer half.

I suppose it depends on whether you have to spend alot of time in clearing before yuo start or whether you can get up and running pretty much immediately - and whether you want to sell or just for your own consumption.

i'm not normally that good at looking surprised at a price when behind the eyes all i want is to get in and start...LOL

Heh, I always go for the cheeky option. I'll give you an example:

Company comes in, offers product for 250k, I laugh and offer 20k - in their nervous laughter, whilst they're still off their feet I'll order slightly more (50 in this case). They then realise we're serious and if they don't accept it, face a 200mile trip home empty handed

Try this.

Work out size of land used. Same size as allotment? So say land rent = £20 per annum
Work out cost of polytunnel. Say £1000 new.
Lifespan of polytunnel. Say 10 years........so cost in simple terms = £100 per annum

Can it be let every year? Doubtful.....
What profit would owner expect on his investment? Say 100% so maybe £240 per annum would be reasonable......

There are many intangibles here but you get the idea........

yes,
me and SWMBO started a little chilli sauce, jam and chutney venture about 2 months ago
local farmers markets at the moment but festivals next year hopefully..(fingers crossed)
all going well so far, had EHO round last night to inspect and have been given 5 stars

You will have to let usd know which festivals you are attending.

We love chillies and quite often get to go to the food festivals at Ludlow, which are fantastic by the way, and other parts of the UK, and it would be good to be able to patronise a fellow Grape (in the best possible way of course).

currently compiling lists of shows that we would like, they will be reduced as some are difficult for newbies to get into as they tend to limit sauce suppliers so that theres not to much competition
but Dorset chilli festival and Upton Cheyne will be high on want to do list but have now got all saturdays till that unmentionable festive day booked with local farmers markets and fayres and since i still have a proper day job that will be all this year
