I think the technical term for that glazing bar is an astricle but whatever you do, do not google it . I was truly shocked when I did so a minute ago. I'm an innocent clearly.

that glazing system has a timber support for the astricles with a rubber sealing strip on top and a PVC top cap that seals down on top of the rubber sealing strip. It's of no use whatsoever without the timber support so of no use for the present purpose

Why did you say 'do not google it' - that has the opposite affect on me - all I'm going to say is I also regret googling it
Well after another bout of online searching I haven't been able to find anything. I wonder if anybody could recommend something that could work as a substitute? Something that will support the glass well enough for me to get away with it?
All I can find are glazing bars for timber structures. A bit of a long shot Mr Dave but there is a company here that with the right tools you may be able to modify something.
