No need to explain, I understand

But its possible to have an electrical fire with everything turned off - faulty wiring / mice chewing cables / etc. Sure, the fuse should trip but when things go wrong ... they go wrong - Sparky wired it wrong, whatever.

If you are worried about such things how about a different approach? A smoke detector (better still a "heat detector" which won't go off if you burn the toast!) which sends you an SMS message if it is triggered. You can then phone a neighbour to check etc. You could also have a couple of web cams in the house that you can check from your phone - so you could see what's what before alerting a neighbour. (And if you are in a terraced house I'm sure they would prefer to check before it became a real problem!)

    Thus a passing though ...

Thanks, for that, makes me feel so much better . No seriously, I understand and accept that there are risks out of my control but I don't feel the need to add unnecessary ones. I don't need my cooker to be on when I'm not in

Me neither! We have one of those "current electricity usage" meters in the hall. We've been on the point of going out when one of us said "What is using THAT much electricity" ... to find that the oven had been left on

I am thinking about using coir plugs as well this year... ROOT!T Expanding Coco Coir Plugs. They are £3 for 36. I probably don't need them but it should make things so much easier.

Bejazzle - I have used them before and I find it so much easier with them, you don't need them but it saves hassle of trying to fight the seedlings out of pots. Mine were Botanico, £5.54 for 50 from amazon with free delivery.

Ok so prop arrived today, read instructions and it says to use with a circuit breaker, I think I'll get one for peace of mind. Does anyone else use one with theirs?

None of mine ever had said that in the instructions, which prop is it?

It would be good practice to use a circuit breaker when ever there is a chance of water and electricity meeting.

Apart from that it covers their arris.
