Hi all,
I'm relatively new to gardening and would much appreciate any advice you can give.
After last years disastrous attempts in my vegetable patch I have decided it's time to invest in a greenhouse. I have spent many hours looking at the various offers on the internet, garden centres, DIY stores etc. I have also read quite a bit including a wealth of useful information here.
But after all this I'm still not entirely sure what I'm looking for. I can get a 6' x 8' in the area I intend to use. I want it primarily to raise seedlings during the spring and salad and vegetable crops during the summer. All I intend to use it for during the winter is to overwinter some of the more delicate items out of the garden although I don't intend to heat it (yet). I have a budget of up to £500 but obviously would prefer to spend less if possible
Most days I'm not at home during the day and sometimes even away overnight.
I suppose my first question is should I really go for toughened glass or polycarbonate (4mm), how much temperature difference does polycarbonate make?
I was edging towards polycarbonate but a lot of the anecdotal evidence seems to be that the panels get brittle and/or blow out. Is this also true if bar capping is used?
I assume I should also go for a vent auto opener?
I have seen a couple on the internet, the first is a polycarbonate
*NEW* POLYCARBONATE GREENHOUSE [250cm x 190cm x 208cm] WITH FREE BASE 8ft x 6ft | eBay
the second one is toughened glass and double the price although there is a lot of stuff included for that. It does seem to be a reputable company, in fact their display centre is only a few miles from where I live and I went along to see it and it did look quite sturdy.

Do you think it is worth paying the extra or for my circumstances should I go for polycarbonate? or do you have any other possibilities
I'd be very grateful of any and all help.
