Another piece of advice going on what Sarz posted above about the flame going out. That pilot will be a oxy-pilot, if there is not the correct amount of oxygen for complete combustion the pilot will draw back from the thermocouple and the flames will extinguish. You may find the air inlet to the pilot is protected by a mesh gauze if so keep this clean (compressed air is great) or you will get flame outage on a regular basis.

Hope it's ok to resurrect this post - I'm thinking of getting one of these and wondered if any of the OPs can give me an update on efficiency and running costs.
