Is it worth £60 to you is the question I would ask yourself. If that £60 could be better saved or spent elsewhere then this might not be the right time. I wanted a greenhouse for years and I mean a very long time. I couldn't afford one. I got made redundant - well sort of and it was my first purchase to get a really good traditional timber one. It was right for me to wait!
Will you get £60 worth of food from it? Or £60 of pleasure from it? Could you pick up a bigger second hand frame for that £60? Do you want a bigger polytunnel. Would a greenhouse do the same job? Could you find one of those for £60?
Do you just really want it anyway

Hey there bigmal. It looks just like mine. But yours is galvanised metal and mines just powdercoated metal. I've had one before when we lived in Devon, What we did was anchored the metal poles inside down with big u-shaped 'staples' (bent bits of metal that we got from somewhere) straight into the soil. To make sure the plastic didn't blow off we put it over the frame then the ends came down over the soil like the hem of a skirt. I put soil over it, then stones to stop it blowing about and this worked brilliantly. The first one I got was clear plastic this one is green checks like yours. So I don't know if the squares with fall out eventually. But, if they do I'll just get some really sticky clear tape and glue em back in! I'm hoping it'll last a few years. I'd love a beautiful expensive greenhouse, but that's just a dream! You can put permanent doors in though, i've sen others do it. If it's galvanised too the frame'll last a fairly long time. I might patchwork mine over the next few years as it begins to fade, but for now I have the biggest grin every time I look outside and see it Hope this helps x
You may say I'm a dreamer... But I'm not the only one...
I'm an official nutter - an official 'cropper' of a nutter! I am sooooo pleased to be a cropper! Hurrah!
The long range forecast for summer don't look good so thought I'd get the old poly back up and running
I can't decide whether to get another cheapo one to go over the old frame - it should strengthen it up - or just to get a pukka 5 year plastic cover for the existing frame and strengthen it up with some tile battens. There isn't much difference in the price either way
I'll have to have a think about it ....................
Another thing to consider BM. All the rain will run off the tunnel onto your raised beds unless you can rig up some guttering. Could this be a problem?

Oh NO, VC - now you've given him something else to think about! Too many decisions - at this rate He'll never buy one
I have other things too LL but I'll let him think about this one first - then dripfeed the others
Problem is - BM could be ordering it at this very moment
That's as maybe, but I'd rather BM take his time and think about it than have to listen to all the rants afterwards. After all, there's not much room on that thread for anyone else
The rain running off the roof doesn't worry me as it will save me watering the inside beds................right, next problem?

It has a skirt that will overlap onto your outside beds - or will you be sinking that into the soil? In which case it may act as a barrier to the water seeping through into the inside section.
