Since its a 6x6 GH, won't the longest section be 6'?

I the gh I was refering to was the 12ft by 6ft one that I got.... the 6ft sections will fit in most MPV's with the seats down and the passenger seat down....

EDIT : If you can blag a friend to help who's got the likes of a zaphira or the likes, and pay their petrol, you should be able to get most bigger pieces in the car and the rest in your's... cheaper even still

Start collecting cardboard and bubble wrap, NOW. Over-wrap all the glass - each pane must be separated from the next by cardboard/bubblewrap/whatever, or it will break. Greenhouse glass is notorious for breaking in transit (yes and other vehicles, before anyone picks me up on it! )

What size car do you have Caldan as most cars will take 6ft long pieces, just tie them in bundles & label them. Or number each part & write it down where it goes (you'll have about 24 lengths). The tricky part is the glass which ideally should be stood on its end not flat. Start collecting bubblewrap, towels, anything to protect them.

If you strip it down to its components (think meccano) the biggest thing to transport is the door.

Can it? My free GHs have always had the door intact

It should have 2 uprights plus a top, bottom & 2 middle pieces (see page 10 of BB's link)
. Then the piece that goes above the door to stabilise it & hold the runners.

Its obvious really - otherwise they couldn't pack a GH kit into a skinny box!

No they usually use cardboard not medium density fibre to pack the /houses in....

your biggest problem with an old greenhouse will be that the glazing clips and the fixing bolts will have corroded. Be sure to to order up plenty spares in advance as old aluminium bolts will shear very easily. Next problem will be dirt on the glass which may cause breakages in transit so be sure to take a suitable glass scraper with you(scrapers which take a stanley knife blade are available from most diy centres). Other than that, it's a jigsaw. Take the pics others have suggested and you will be fine.

I'd personally write off the nuts, bolts & clips and buy new ones once you know what sort you need.

Yeah, will try and take pics and definitely get some spares at least!

Thanks to everyone for great advice - will post a pic when it is 'hopefully' installed. Or a question if get stuck

last second hand greenhouse I put up, I got away with a single small packet of nuts and bolts from my local garden centre. Bear in mind that B&Q (last time I needed anything along these lines) only stock small repair kits which have only one or two of each of the items listed above.
