That sounds like all change to me.

On my 8 x 6 there were 2 roof vents and no glazing clips, the panels slid into the frame work.

Looks like they have tried to cheapen the production costs.

forget all that ... get one twice as big as you need ... it will still be too small

Seriously, get the biggest you can afford and one that is "square" will be easier to control that a long narrow one(12 x 8 is better than two 8 x 6's end to end) you'll have hotspots in the middle.

If you get a decent make the polycarb should be OK unless you live in a wind tunnel, its the Correx type glazing isn't as rigid and will pop out.

      Hope that helps

Thanks sems. I looked into it further and it looks like they have discontinued their previous own version and now ship the guardman extra tall version. I've just seen it on their UK website. Thing is, they haven't updated the Irish site yet so I haven't received what I thought I was buying. Pretty disappointed. I'll keep it but give them a piece of my mind. Maybe they can supply a second window kit gratis?
        Cheers

Yeah I'd say that's what it's all about. Pity they didn't opt for the othe model and ditch the guardman. I googled the product code and the guardman is on sale evrywhere under various names. It's obviously a generic budget greenhouse. Mass produced in Some poor third world country probably.

This is for those of you who buy a poly g/house when I had one (10'x8') I found that the clips dont really do a good job of holding the poly panels in place so what I did was drill a small hole thro the poly and the frame and then used some small self tappers with a washer under the head this worked a treat and I never had any panels blow out in all the time I had it,and as far as I know its still going strong now after 8 years.

I rang and pointed out the discrepancey on the website. They were very reasonable and offered to take it back but in the end they are going to send out all the necessary parts for a second window. So I'm happy with that. They say they discontinued the other model and went with the clip method because if a panel blew out on the old model you almost had to dismantle the whole greenhouse to get it back in. Fair point I suppose.

It would have been an even happier ending if they'd reimbursed your money and told you to keep the GH........but an extra window is something..............maybe you can make a teeny little cold frame from it

In the back of my mind I was hoping for just that But he was pretty quick with the 'No problem Sir, we'll send a truck right round to pick it up'. So I think the second window was a result.
Now I just need to build the thing. eek face

Redser, i have spent the last couple of days looking for the paperwork from the purchase of my greenhouse with no luck im afraid. If i can remember rightly it was a Julian model 9.0 x8.6. It has double door opening and as far as I can remember I bought it from a firm in county Meath. I paid for to have them erect it and have never had any trouble with it.I think i have it about 8 or 9 years now. I will continue to liik for the paperwork and will let you know the details when i find it. Hope this may help.

That's very kind Bramble, thanks so much. Please don't go to any trouble. At this stage I'm pretty sorted. I've started preparing the site and base. Once that's done its full steam ahead

Hi, I have a question for anyone who has a Waltons extra tall greenhouse. I've just finished building mine and discover that there are no door seals provided. There's a 14 mm gap between the door and the greenhouse frame. Seals are not listed in the parts list or instructions so there is something fishy going on. The vertical door pieces do have T shaped channels for seals but only 1 mm deep.
I've been on to a helpful chap on eBay who sells GH parts and he has nothing to fit. Waltons have not responded.
So, did yours come with seals?
Has anyone ever knocked up their own DIY seals?
Thanks a lot for any help!
