Which Greenhouse would you recommend?

I brought a walk in Greenhouse about 2 weeks ago and put it up but it keeps taking off or coming undone so is guy roped at the moment. I wanted a more permanent structure to be able to put stuff into it on the allotment and not have to worry if the stuff will fall off the staging or fall over. I was thinking about a long and wide or a wide and short length one. Could anyone give me what recommendation they think. Picture of the greenhouse there now is attached and the links are to a greenhouse i have thought of
getting. The greenhouse i have now is between 2 raised beds and the space there is 5 ft wide by 6.6ft length.

They always look sturdier on level ground, with no wind, in the shop! They are affectionately known as bloways for a reason round the vine...

The advice round here seems to be get as big as you can afford and have space for. Budget in an automatic opener.

The Aluminium one looks small.

You need to look at the bases - they'll want attached to a flat & solid base not an uneven allotment plot.

Sorry, but the two you have posted links to will also blow away. You need to look at anchoring your current one properly. Anything else you may buy will also need to be fixed securely.

I notice that the skirts are loose - the wind will get under these and lift the whole thing. They need to be either buried or anchored with something heavy.

Yeah that's true. The other problem I have is I'm worried the cover will go the way the poly tunnel cover has gone which is the little windows fall out and I don't want to keep having to replace it. Soo was thinking of getting a polycarbonate as it will be just over the hedge from a park and afraid if it was class someone might smash it. I would be willing to dig to put a base in as longs as I knew the greenhouse would last.

I could move it back a little if it was the small greenhouse like the first link so it's by the hedge. And as little as possible a decent greenhouse that I can use year round.

The best greenhouse is a free greenhouse, try any of the freecycle site or ebay and pick yourself up a bargain. Then get any replacement parts you need whether that be 2ft x 2ft 3mm glass panes or some clips etc and you will have a much better product for less than you are looking at there.

My greenhouse is sat on and secured into concrete blocks which I use as a perimeter bed, there's no real footing. Its strong and doesn't move it cost me no more than £70 quid all in. The greenhouse was free the replacement panes, extra clips and makeshift door runner and concrete blocks and some sand and cement was my only cost.

Since putting it in the location shown in the image, I have moved it to a new spot and reused all the blocks.

Lots of people will pooh-pooh, but I still think a Norfolk Standard is a good thing for an allotment greenhouse. They are a 'mare to construct, but the Standard method of covering, with polythene on a roll which you bury in a trench on either side, keeps the whole thing solid and it won't be broken with stones thrown at it. Have a look at the photos in the album 'Bottom plot' in the albums in my profile.

Don't be mistaken into looking at the 'Ultimate' models on the Norfolk website though, you'd spend most of your time putting the polycarb back in and they aren't so easily anchored.

Click on my user-name, then click View Profile. Then scroll down, looking on the left-hand side for Photo Albums. Click on 'View More' (or something similar) then find the album called 'Bottom Plot'

Yes, I had 2 for a while, a 6x12 on the allotment and a 6x4 at home. I gave the 6x12 away when I got the polytunnel, it was 5 years old then, and had to have the cover replaced after moving it. The 6x4 is coming up 7 and still has the same cover with a few repairs done this year.

Looks ideal for what i want Did it have a window in it by any chance or would i just open the door for ventilation?
