Western Red Cedar contains natural oils which act as preservatives rendering our wood resistant to decay and insects. It is known to last many decades therefore is used in log homes, decks, fences, gazebos and in any outdoor application where resistance to weather is an issue. WesternRedCedar
Ah I'd forgotten I'd asked previously. I've tried scrubbing down and then linseed oil in places, but it's been a bit half hearted and I really need to do the whole green house in one go. The bits I've done look OK though.
