  • Wooden greenhouse preservative

My wooden (cedar) greenhouse needs a bit of a spruce up. What is recommended to put on the frame?
    Thanks in advance.

Western Red Cedar contains natural oils which act as preservatives rendering our wood resistant to decay and insects. It is known to last many decades therefore is used in log homes, decks, fences, gazebos and in any outdoor application where resistance to weather is an issue. WesternRedCedar

Thanks for that, Aberdeen plotter, it's more to make it look a little better than anything.

Two Sheds, I didn't intend the pun, but noticed it after typing, so thought I'd leave it.

I noticed that you asked the same question in October 2010 http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...tml#post752155

Did you do anything to the greenhouse then?

I've googled and you can use woodstain on cedar.

Could you rub down a little and use linseed oil or something akin?

Ah I'd forgotten I'd asked previously. I've tried scrubbing down and then linseed oil in places, but it's been a bit half hearted and I really need to do the whole green house in one go. The bits I've done look OK though.
              Thanks for all the answers.
