Light Levels - Green mesh-type reinforced polyethylene UV stabilised tunnel cover

Hello,

I just got a 'titan' polytunnel kit off ebay. It has 160g green mesh 'reinforced polyethylene UV stabilised Lino cross weave, rip stop tough cover'. lots of words.

was wondering if any one out there knows about how this type of cover affects light levels in the tunnel.

i rekon they would be great for growing tomatoes but what about plants that require higher light levels?

no seedling growth seems leggy yet, but on the other hand dont want to end up with dwarf plants.

If light levels are low you won't have dwarf plants but tall leggy ones! No experience of this type of tunnel but I use green mesh tunnels fir allsorts on the allotment and never had a problem. Can't be any darker in your tunnel than a greenhouse with shading.

There was enough light to grow everything in mine

I have green mesh blinds on my greenhouse, and they're pulled down all day if it's sunny. Nothing suffers from lack of light.

I also have plenty of veggies under green mesh on the lotty (anti-butterfly mesh). Again, no problems
