  • Blowaway polytunnel advice needed?

I have ordered a blow away polytunnel and I have dug a trench 1ft deep on all 4 sides to put the tunnel in and I am going to have a lowered path down the middle.....

I have a long piece of solid wood in the trench down one side on the outside, what I was wondering is could I put a long bit of wood on the inside too and screw it to the one on the outside of the tunnel to sandwich the polytunnel cover in between for more stability or would it weaken the cover?

    Hope that makes sense...lol

I wouldnt go making holes in the cover to be honest. If there is extra length maybe bury it in the soil?

I must admit that I was considering something similar for mine if the need arose as i only have about 2 inches of extra length all round, nowhere near enough to consider burying.

If you decide to go with it, please let us know how you get on.

Maybe make a perimeter base out of thick planks or scaffold boards. Then roll the ends of the cover in some 2 x 1 baton all the way round. Then screw this on to the scaffold board. It's how a lot of people do it with real and DIY tunnels.
