  • Avoiding frying plants whilst on holiday?

    Morning all,

I was just wondering if anyone has any tips to help avoid the greenhouse frying my plants while I go away for a couple of days but while also ensuring the greenhouse remains warm enough for them overnight?

    Kind regards,

    Samuel

Last year I filled as many buckets and containers as I could with water and it seemed to work.
When it got really hot the water evaporated then condensed on the glass stopping it getting hotter, as the sun died down the water dropped off and watered the plants and when it hit night time the water held the heat acting kind like a hot water bottle.

I've only done it once which was last summer (first week in August) but all the cucumbers, tomatoes and salad veg seemed in great condition when we got back.

Shade the greenhouse, and leave vents open
