Poly tunnel or Greenhouse

As you probably know the I have both a greenhouse and a poly tunnel.

I wondered what everybody's thoughts were on what to grow in each.

I am a novice veggie gardener so just wondered what the different benefits were between the two for different veggies.

I also have space outside where I will be growing potatoes, brassicas, salads, onions, carrots and other roots etc.

I thought marrow, squash, cucumber, tomatoes, courgettes etc but I don't know which would benefit most from greenhouse or poly tunnel.

Decisions, decisions.... all this the day after a monster migraine Argggggghhhhh!!!!
Your thoughts would be massively helpful please.

Cukes, tomatoes and peppers in the poly.
Seedlings started off in greenhouse.
Squash, pumpkins, marrow outside.

That's exactly the kind on info I need.
I don't know why but I had the notion, goodness knows where it came from, that it was better to grow the squash, pumpkins and marrows inside.

I grew my squash in the tunnel last year, they made good ground cover between the tomatoes and I got a better crop than I've ever had outside. Pumpkins are a bit big for the tunnel though I reckon.

The polytunnel is an excellent way to grow things earlier and later than you can get away with outside - eg my peas in the polytunnel are flowering while the ones outside are looking wind-battered, stunted and sorry for themselves. Potatoes in the tunnel are about 6 inches tall, outside they aren't even showing... In full summer, polytunnel and greenhouse are very similar. You can maintain different conditions in each one though - tunnel slightly more humid than greenhouse for eg.

Another consideration might be the frequency of picking & the relative positions of house,greenhouse & polytunnel

A further consideration would be planting method & given the existing set up I would say,pots & trays in the greenhouse & direct planted in the poly.
I am wondering if the old gardener grew some tropical plants in the greenhouse given the shale base & the overhead mister.

Very possibly. The mister is up and running again now thanks to son in law.
