  • Condensation

Earlier this week i built a 8x4 "blow away" plastic greenhouse i bought this because it was cheap and its the first time i have ever grown any thing, just to see if i can get into growing veg but i am getting a lot of condensation that is dripping down from the roof and sides, my questions are

    1 - is this normal ?
2 - will it cause problems to seedlings
3 - is there any thing i can do about it

    Thanks in advance

    1 - Yes,just the same in mine
2 - Not unless it drips directly into a tray & drowns them
3 - Leave the "door" open on hot days is what I do

Ken, the door should be open on warm days. Dampness can lead to fungal problems. If the blowaway is still too hot with the door open, shade it with a curtain, towel or newspaper

Yeah that normal and it may cause problems to the seedlings in the form of fungal diseases as Two Sheds said and also if the water drips onto the leaves of plants it may sit on them and they may get scorch from the sun so try to keep the door open during the day and then close it at night. Not alot can really be done apart from that as the temperature changes at the moment are so different inside to outside the greenhouse :/.

Thanks for every ones advice, leaving the door open worked a treat, another step on this big long learning curve

          Cheers

Yeah, it's like when we're hot and sweating: we undo our coat
