How long will polycarbonate last?

Hi - I'm thinking through the options for a greenhosue and polycarboante would suit me because of the kids. Toughened glass would be great but just too expensive for me.
But I wonder how long it will last? Do I need to factor in replacing it in x number of years? I've read various greenhouse reviews where people talk about it discolouring or getting brittle, especially around the areas where clips are used. Is this down to misuse or is it inevitable that it will give way, like a polytunnel skin for example?
Any thoughts or opinions welcome!

if your polycarbonate is UV stabilised it should have a 5 years guarantee against discoloration and brittling some may have a 10 year guarantee be it multiwall,solid or corrugated.

Thanks bravo. I really would be hoping for something better than 5 years, or even better than 10 years.

One of the main problems with twin wall polycarbonate is that people don't realised it has two different sides. One is UV stable the other is not if you fit it incorrectly it degrade very quickly 3 to 4 years at most.

Before I had my GH I used home made frames glazed with 10mm polycarbonate, I had them 9 years and from me they went to my son who had them another 3 years. They were still good when he left them behind on moving house.

I have had my Poly glazed GH 51/2 years now, touch wood no sign of degrading.

Yes Its covered in a type of cling film which indicates the exterior side.
