  • Where can I buy long overlap clips or something to make them with?

I bought a yet another second-hand greenhouse in the winter. The day I had to move it was absolutely freezing, with snow on the ground and it was really awkward to dismantle as it was in a tight corner. Consequently I lost quite a lot of the overlap/Z clips in the snow (never to be seen again). The problem is that the overlap is quite big and standard Z clips are too short. Even the flat ones (to bend yourself) at my local garden centre are short. Any help or ideas please? No idea where the originals came from or what make the greenhouse is. The glass is standard 2 feet by 2 feet.

On eBay you can get aluminium sheet offcuts in all thicknesses and many different sizes, 0.5mm is about what your looking for, find the offcut with a dimension that suits and with a cheap pair of tinsnips cut the strips off. I know exactly where your coming from on this matter. Been there myself many times with mine and other people greenhouses

Brilliant! Just what I need. I had looked on e-bay at clips but didn't realise you could buy sheets of aluminium on there.

Pair of tinsnips and a bean tin. Cut into 1/2" wide strips and bend to suit!

Watch you don't cut yourself though!

Try using paperclips, easy to bend with pliers, but use three to a pane of glass

What about taking the panes to a local glazier and asking him to trim a few mm off so standard overlap clips will fit

the glass would then not fit the space would it?

Then you reduce the height of the GH to match the glass - 'sobvious

Those clips usually hold pane on pane vertically to fit into the frame usually two to four panes high... You'd only need to trim one pane for them all to fit in for one vertical section......
