all i did to get the shape was, draw a box to a scale, say 1in/1cm to a foot/the with and height, mark centre top and bottom, mark aprox 3ft straight for sides, then curve the the rest round, next put a straight edge on the curve to get the most suitable angles, when i got all the measurements, they were transfered to a large board and marked out,DH put bits of wood to make a jig for the other hoopie things when the first 1 was cut to my specifications lol,the angles i got using paper direct from the size on the board, all 3 angles were different,it worked a treat, although DH kept getting in a twist what went where,i knew, and thats what mattered, the 5 hoops were made at home, then joined by lengths of wood at the lottie, the wood stain makes the difference, and the top cover was machined together to get a 1 sheet, all it cost was screws, sweat and planning,if we were to do another,it would be better and easier to make the hoop in 2 halves, and join it as in a traditional roofing, better to both transport, make and easier to get the ridge,Last edited by lottie dolly; 09-06-2013, 10:37 PM.sigpicAnother nutter ,wife, mother, nan and nanan, love my growing places, seed collection and sharing, also one of these
