Cleaning The Greenhouse

I've searched and read a fair few threads about cleaning out greenhouses in autumn to try and get rid of any nasties.

I had a nasty red spider might infestation this year.

Once I remove the chilli plants I'll be overwintering indoors I was planning on cleaning the glass inside and out with J**** fluid and then using a sulphur candle.

The thing is I've got soil beds I'm nervous that the J**** fluid and the sulphur candle might contaminate the soil.

Is this possible/likely?

I won't be planting anything in the soil directly until next spring but I will be overwintering some perennial flowers in the GH but I wouldn't put anything back in there for a few days following the cleaning!

If you use the ***** fluid at the correct dilution it won't harm your soil at all. Neither will the sulphur candle. Just remember to air the greenhouse after you've finished.

I used a sulphur candle the other day, I was impressed how it killed all the bugs. If you think about it sulphur is used on plants as a fungicide so it shouldnt do any harm.

Just done mine for the winter using good old ***** Fluid scrub and sulphur candle. Sadly I'm behind on everything else.

There is also a garlic candle you can use instead of the sulphur one. You don't have to remove your plants to use the garlic candle. I haven't tried it though.

Why is ***** fluid censored/replaced with **** on here? Always wondered. I know it's a nasty, but you could say the same about glyphosate and they don't censor that - just wondering...
