  • Cloches

I have just ordered some cloches for my veggies... now a daftish question...

Do I have to remove them each time I want to water? Or will the water get to the veg enough through the surrounding dirt?

Its a bit of yes and no!

If the weather is like we have been having this month then probably not but once it starts to get sunny then probably yes you will have too.

If your plants are very small you will probably need to lift the cloches to water them for a couple of weeks. Once the roots are well down into the soil this shouldn't be necessary as (provided it carries on raining) enough water should get into the surrounding soil.

Thanks - they turned up today! As it was wet I've just tried one out on my carrots... come up abit short so might have to juggle.

Still they get abit more room to grow now rather than be stuffed into a squash bottle!!
