Polytunnel shelving.

Has anybody else seen the posting on tunnel shelving where the shelves were collapsible and hung on chains from wires in the tunnel ceiling and the hinge was around length of tube jubilee clipped to the hoops?

Nope but it sounds very interesting bravo2zero. I have three builders planks along one side which I have in place at seed sowing time, but remove later, but its such a kerfuffle and they are so heavy it takes a bit of effort. I'm always worrried I'll put them through the plastic!

Thanks Jenny, registered a while back which was when i saw this shelving, but cannot find it now. Judging by the way my wife(bless her)has taken to hanging baskets i am going to need the space.

There's a similar product for Grrenhouses called Speed shelving. Try looking at somewhere like First tunnels, Northern Polytunnels or maybe threewests & Elliot's website.

You can get some brackets that make staging for polytunnels as well, this would be another way then you could make some staging that just fits on top when you need it and leave the brackets up dutring the summer

What am i growing

In reply to Dexters question i am growin all the usual crops. I tend to grow a lot succesionally . New to me this year are Chioggia beetroot and aubergines also i am growing a lot more flowers and at last i have not had to go scrounging for celery and celeriac seedlings as mine germinated after a long wait. My indoor crops are Tigerella and Gardeners delight toms in the greeenhouse, the tigerellas are the size of golf balls already. In the tunnel last week i stated to harvest carrots,beetroots and the first row of charlotte new spuds.The second crop of lettuces are now gone and i am now onto the outdoor crop and the first peas have also been and gone.Trying florence fennel inside this year as last year every plant bolted before my eyes.
My allotment comprises of 21 4ft wide beds of varying length,23 chickens,20x10ft pollytunnel adjoined by two coldframes,two 8x6ft greenhouses one of which is dedicated to propagation only and the other for growing,four compost bins constantly on overtime and a leaf mould bin which incidentally has just been emtied to mulch the melons in the tunnel.
