I'm well chuffed ! A s some of you know I have just been allocated an allotment , well I just happened to tell a guy who works with me how pleased I was and what I hoped for ,when he asked " your no wanting a greenhouse are you ? !" result !!! today he came back to me with the details , it's his Dad's , 8ft x 4ft, aluminium and all intact with an auto roof window , spare glass , plastic benching , and a water butt £50, and his dads going to dismantle it for me ! , now I just need a shed , which I may just build for myself , we will see .

Great news Jimslad. Before you go building any bases, I would double check the size as it seems uncommon to me. The only 8'x4' I know of are lean to's.

I'm in no rush to build the base , I mean .

I've all but given up on a greenhouse that someone else dismantled. But thats party down to the lack of bolts of the correct size more than anything. But pics would help a lot. If anyone is after a greenhouse in North London/herts let me know!

Just a wee update , The greenhouse is lying waiting to be picked up , but I have built my shed , I couldn't find one at the price I wanted (cheap !!)so bought 18 shed doors from a theatre company who had used them as props on stage , each door was 2ft6ins x 6ft 6ins and had a handle and a pair of 12ins T Hinges on it , I bought the 18 doors for £75 , my shed was quickly formed by 3 doors for the base 3 for the front , the same for the back and 2 for each side , giving me a shed with inside measurements of 7ft 1ins x 5 ft , and will last for years the big bonus was that it was already painted browny colour , the base being bigger than the sides I have a 18ins patio for my most important asset my seat !!
The 2 doors that were left are with a wee bit adaptation going to be cold frames ,(work in progress)

I like to think that if properly constructed, they should all work. That way you don't have to worry about walking round to the other side to get in. It'd be great!
