  • Wot, no tassles?

My sweetcorn in the PT has gone bonkers in growth but i still have no sign of tassles? They maybe could have been fed more often, but I'm fretting about the lack of tassles in my life. Any advice?

They look lovely. Mine are outside and about the same height. I don't expect to be cropping until end of July ish. This is my first year doing them, lively to watch their development and see how many corn each one will be producing . Good luck with yours

You can be harvesting them as late as September so you have loads of time. My dog ate 30 (All my seedlings) so I had to replant and now mine are only a foot high but I still expect a crop.

I sowed some more a week ago with the idea of getting a late crop. Don't know if it will work though. My first ones are growing well but not quite as big as yours. I'm expecting the flowers and tassles to appear later this month.

                    hey guys

just an update - tassles galore! And mostly 2 cobs on each plant. Am shaking the pollen every day and very excited. Planning a sweetcorn party when they are ready!

That's lovely Judy, getting to the part where I dither about whether they are ready or not lol. I just look back at those 'blades of grass' in pots on my windowsill, and think WOW

Yes, i know about the 'dithering'! Ate our first one yesterday, now wishing they'd all hurry up as i need the space in the PT.

The ones in the beds outside are about 3ft tall and now have tassles but i'm not expecting large cobs. Got any advice for these ones?
