  • Min Max thermometer

    Hi All,

My min/max thermometer has a setting for indoor/outdoor - what is the reason for this, and which should i use if it's in a greenhouse?

    Thanks!

Does if have two sensors, one for indoors and one for outside? i.e. do you get two separate "sets" of readings?

No, it just has a rocker switch that you can either turn to 'indoor' or 'outdoor'.

Out of interest, what make is it?...perhaps we can pull up a picture and work out how to use it?

        This is mine...

No choice of setting.....I just presumed that being outdoor meant that it's temperature range was greater than an indoor one.

Does your outdoor setting offer a larger temperature range perhaps and maybe is OK if subjected to frost/ rain etc?

Never really thought about it before!
        Interesting!

I'm trying to ID the make- does it say?

I'm presuming either you have lost the instructions- or they are rubbish to follow?

...there's part of the casing missing too!

It's a TFA 'Vista', and I took it out of the casing so you could see the settings!

              Yes, I lost the instructions...

just googled it and found the instructions - so on 'outdoor' it has a larger range, as you suggested. I've always had it on 'indoor' - the wrong setting...

Seems like it's a little more accurate on 'indoor' setting.

                Mystery solved.
