Getting back to my original point. Has anyone tried making an hinged opening window frame from scratch? Would a louvred window fit in the roof and be safe?

    Thanks

      Hi Guys
      Happy new Year to all.
I hope I am not being too boring with this thread.
There seems to be mixed opinions about using a louvre window, I am now looking at trying to repair my damaged framimg, The big problem with that is that the upper cross strut, the one that slides into the roof ridge. Both ends where it bolts into the down struts were ripped off during the storm. I can not think of a way to repair or add a new strut/ joint in. Any Ideas?
