  • Polytunnel or this Greenhouse

Was looking at getting a new cover for my Polytunnel but I have just come across this, what does everyone think it would be like?

I think it looks mighty flimsy, it is only plastic sheet so not really a green house as one would expect. If your poly is a good one i would stick with that.

I agree with Bill, it looks like a large blowaway so would need a lot of anchoring down plus another thing to worry about during adverse weather conditions. I would put the cash towards a new cover.

I agree with Bill and BigMal. Unless sited in a well sheltered position i doubt if it would last long.

Think you would need to peg it very well. If you don't then it could just pop with the wind pressure. Also looks a bit thin and could rip quite easily.

If at all possible I would recommend not buying one of those horrible green polytunnel covers, and instead use heavy duty polytunnel polythene. Its a bit more work getting it taught and you will have to make a door, but well worth it IMO. i covered my 20ft polytunnel last year with non drip polythene and the difference is amazing.

Someone at my site got one last year. He recovered what was left of it from the road the following week

An extra 20/30 quid would buy you a 20ft poly cover, even if yours was twice as big and cost twice as much, at least you know it will be there next year.Don't buy that, unless you keep it in a polytunnel....

I have a couple of cheapo 6x4 blowaways, one of which has been up since last spring, and this looks even more blowawayable. I had looked at this and decided to get the green tent instead (it was cheap and I expected it not to last). I'd go with the recover your polytunnel vote.
