  • Shed names...?

This will possibly sound a little daft, but I'm thinking of naming my shed!

I inherited my plot 9 months ago and on it was a fairly structurally sound but leaking shed (and a cobbled together one that a neighbour seems to be squatting in for the duration - but that's another story). I fixed the roof a few weeks ago as it was in dire need:

As you can see in this pic it is in need of a paint/stain once it has dried out a little more in the warmer weather:

I'm torn between some beach hut style colours as I grew up on the coast and have done a spot of world travel which would mean I'd have to sand down the reddish colour on the front or TARDIS blue for self-explanatory reasons.

If I go with the beach hut style I want to hang a sign above the door painted with the shed's name on on it which is yet to be decided out of a few options related to my personality or places I have been.

Am I odd in considering this, or have other folks named their sheds? If so, what is yours named and why?!

Yes you are very odd I am yet to get a shed but will def. name it now.
I have named my cars in the past, named the house, named parts of the garden, but shed will be a first.

Just want to come up with something other than 'Ted' the shed

When we moved to this house, there was a shed in the garden, painted in black and white stripes. 30+ years later, it still has the same stripes, even though they're a nightmare to paint. We called it the Wendy house - not very original, but its stuck

Shouldn't that be 50 sheds of grey? (I'll get me coat...)

My thinking was more along the lines of how pubs have names; there will be home made real ales and country wines during the summer for my helpful neighbours when we have a BBQ etc or if they come up for a cuppa (there's always someone offering a cuppa!).

For instance something twee like 'the travellers rest' or a little more allotment themed 'magpie's retreat' I have had various thought in recent weeks and not really settled on anything.

I do have a few electioneering flags from Borneo I snaffled (after voting closed of course!) which I was debating whether to add to the beds to keep the pigeons off so perhaps something jungle/orang utan related.

Or then I was thinking back to when an old street I lived on closed and had a party there was an abundance of bunting and everyone opened their gardens so I might make some suitably weather resistant and very 'English' which I could theme the rest of the plot around....

I'm already looking at paint colours lol!
