  • Cleaning Polytunnel Cover

What product would everyone recommend to clean the inside/outside of a poly cover? Would like to get rid of algae and disinfect the inside. I have used ***** fluid on my parents greenhouse to good effect but was not sure about using this on polythene covers?

I bought a product that sounds like the latin name for oranges and lemons but I almost never use it, warm water and a soft sponge will clean algae and bits of dead plant off, no trouble.

For the outside - tie a piece of long rope either end of and old sheet.
Have a good friend on standby
      Soak sheet in warm water
Throw one end of rope over the tunnel to said friend.
You hold the other then - fairly gently - "back scrub" you way down the length of the tunnel
      Repeat if necessary.
I have "free" water so usually fire the hose up over the top as a final rinse.

Plastic on tunnels are often treated to make them last or work better and you don't want to rub them off.

PS. I just don't have enough time to say hello to everyone as they join so please take this as a delighted to see you here!
