How much would you pay for this polytunnel?

Forgive me if this isn't appropriate on this board but I could really use some opinions from 'Undercover' interested parties?

I am (very, very sadly!) having to sell my 6 x 3 polytunnel. It was a 'green' one originally bought from a business on ebay but it was one of the better quality ones with thicker framing/more hoops etc. It was given to me but I think it was about £190 ish when it was bought. There are pictures of it on here from when it was first put up and I was so excited about all my gardening plans. Humph!

Anyway, it's been used for one season (last year) and although the cover will have to be cut away (due to the way it was fastened with wood), I do have a brand new replacement cover for it that's still in it's box. The person I got it from has told me to get as much for it as I can but I don't know what's reasonable.

Someone local has shown an interest in it but I have absolutely no clue how much to ask for it and they wont make an offer, they just want to know my price. I don't want to ask too much but nor do I want to let it go for peanuts, though the interested person did say they were happy to pay a fair price.

You need to ask yourself, how quickly do i need to sell it? If you price it too high, then that will put people off.

Do they have to dismantle it? How much does it cost for an identical replacement cover?

I don't need to sell it urgently but certainly within the next 6 ish weeks.

I would dismantle it and I have the replacement cover already, the buyer would not need to buy one they would be given it with the frame.

How much is a new cover?
Sell it at that price as a minimum and add on something for the frame. They don't go up again as well as they did the first time.

If it is collect-only you have a small audience (compared to when you bought it and it was shipped to you, or available for collection from a national chain of Box Shifters or similar I expect?)

I'm guessing the new cover cost you £80 or thereabouts - if so I would ask £110-120? Much more than that and the buyer would be tempted to go for a brand new one.

As Bill has said, without a photo it's difficult to estimate. I had a secondhand 12x8 g/h with some staging, spare glass, 2 water butts for free...
I looked on Eb@y, you can get polys, 6x9 metres RRP 199 reduced to £110 so I really think you would be lucky to get your money back on the new cover if they cost around £80.

I would do like other says. Get the money for the cover and the frame included tin the price. But if is too cheap why not do something else. I dismantled mine and I made 2 cage for the brassica one small greenhouse and the leftover piece for a peas frame.

I never thought about selling the cover as the main thing with the frame thrown in tbh. I can't for the life of me remember how much it was but I'll google to see what they sell for now.

I wasn't expecting to get a lot for it all, I was hoping for around £75 ish at a rough guess but really had no idea.

I'm not able to keep it and utilise it in other ways, we were in the process of looking for somewhere else to move to as we were finally told a date for when the Landlord required his property back (we'd been in limbo for the last year) and during this 2 month notice period, my partner of 18 years has very suddenly and completely unexpectedly (to the rest of the family anyway) decided he wants to leave and get a flat by himself. So in a few short weeks I will be partnerless and homeless and skint. I've always been at home with the family so I have no career to help us out and the reality is that I will probably have to squash us all in to a pokey flat somewhere and try to start over.

So unfortunately all my garden stuff has to go, with just about anything else I own that's saleable.

I'm in my 50's now so as you might imagine it all seems very daunting.

Anyway, back to the issue, do you think £75 ono is a reasonable sum to ask or is that too much?

When I used to do carboots and people said about it being expensive my response would be 'I can always come down on price, I can't go up'

Ask for £80 and go down to £75 if he wants it cheaper
