Aww thanks....didn't think anyone would notice my absence...

It's been a funny couple of months with rain almost every day (or so it's seemed!) since the beginning of November so I haven't been able to do much on the allotment. Still got a couple of beds to dig and paths to weed but I'll leave that until March (if it ever decides to stop raining by then!!!) and do the digging then and get some proper paths laid. We paid the rent for 2016 at beginning of December but then things went up in the air as hubby and I didn't know if we'd be moving house to a different town (to be closer to hubby's work to save some cash) and would have to give up the plot. Turns out neither of us really 'want' to move because we live in a quiet area and ok, the flat is a bit cold but that's fixable What both of us felt MOST unhappy about was losing the allotment because we both love it so much!!! So for the past month I've felt a bit 'flat' as I didn't feel like making any growing plans....but now that we've both finally talked about how we feel I'm positively BOUNCING with excitement and cannot wait for the new growing season to begin 2015 was my first year ever of growing veggies and I'm just completely addicted now and find myself drooling over stuff to grow to eat instead of just flowers as I've done for the past 40-odd years!

As I said to Neil earlier this afternoon is it completely bonkers to be so madly in love with a 90ft (or thereabouts) patch of mud?

If it's allowed, I have a quick video. Greenhouse is about halfway through. It all looks really forlorn!

Quick visit around 1pm to check stuff in tunnel (couple of things needed watering) and overall the plot isn't TOO swampy. Bought some seed potatoes from Wilko so they're now in the shed...hanging from the roof so no mice can eat them! Also got myself a packet of Hurst Green Shaft peas which I grew last summer (got tray of 10 baby plants from Homebase as an experiment) and found to be absolutely delicious. Next few weeks are going to be fun as I work out what to grow and where to put it.

A few pics...excuse the mess as I didn't finish tidying in October before the rainy season started!

Looking good Gilly, it'll be good to see it come to fruition. Take the outside photos & put them here:

Feeling for you all with all that rain. Love the video blog thing, i tired to do one a week last year and failed think i only did 5 or 6.

Courgettes are a experiment, and have worked really well, had some blossom rot on a few but so very happy with them, really hope i can get them as a year rounder as it is one of my favourite veggies.

Thanks Scarlet, organised chaos one day i will get it sorted, promise, p.s i do not dare take photos of the outside, even worse

I only do one update a quarter - I prefer reading and looking at photos to watching videos tbh, am a bit old skool.

                          Ooh nice!

I like this time of year in the polytunnel as its quiet and just warm enough to sit with a cup of tea and dream of spring.
Anyway Chinese veg are doing pretty well

And the rotting pile of manure is keeping things around 3-4c, though it hasn't been too cold anyway

Thought I'd add the stuff in the conservatory

Ring of Fire Chilli ready for another harvest and a trim back

                            Lemons almost ready for picking

Inside my polytunnel on Jan 9th:

Spring greens overwintering nicely, couple of tenderstem broccoli plants to the left

Various chards yet to really take off

                              Parsley and a dead chilli

Overwintered cauliflower seedlings, not sure if they'll come to much.

                                View in my greenhouse(s).

The first picture was taken into my 6x8, I've got some over wintering Fuchsias, over wintering Salvias, some onion seeds sown in a unheated Propagator. (Under the fleece).

The 2nd photo .......was my 6x6.
