  • Greenhouse floor

So last weekend I bought a 6x6 greenhouse and base from b&q, I plan on building it this weekend although I would like to lower the floor in it to give me more headroom and growing space. How would you recommend going about this ?

    Thanks

Sit it on Breeze Blocks, it will give you an extra 8" headroom or if its on soil, dig a path out of the centre to the depth that you want to gain.

Could you buy another base for £5 and sit one on top of the other - or even 2 more and make it 10" higher for a tenner.?

Never thought of double base-ing VC! Clever!

I have mine on sleepers as I couldn't be faffed with getting breize blocks level with each other. Sleepers are easier! I do still fall over the step though.

PS if you lower the floor do you risk a) undermining the base which might make it more vulnerable in strong wind or b) creating a covered pond in winter?
