  • Oil heater in greenhouse.... do the fumes harm the plants?

Hello everyone... well, its my first post, and one has got to start somewhere...

I have a couple of eltex paraffin heaters in our (smallish) greenhouse , one floor standing with double wick, the other a propagator heater sitting on the staging.
Now, being a bit of a tightwad, and as we use standard kerosene for our cooking & heating & hot water, I normally siphon off some to use in the greenhouse heaters...
She Who Must Be Obeyed is a bit concerned (it says here) that the fumes are having a deleterious effect on her seedlings... could this be the case??....

    thanks, in anticipation....

Hello Steve & welcome to the Jungle, apparently Kerosene is one of the best fuels to use in the greenhouse, see paragraph 2.
