Last night when watering my tomatoes I noticed a huge toad lurking underneath a plant. I wonder if this explains the curious nibble marks I'd noticed on a couple of corgettes? Possibly the toad was attracted the the odd baby slug, which I saw oncloser inspection (how they got in I don't know). Have re-homed the toad under a bush outside, and slugs in chickens tummy!

Cherish your toad Pixie. I encourage them (or even re-locate them!) into my greenhouse. I'm not aware that they eat vegetation at all but I know they munch slugs and smails so my enemy's enemy is my friend, as they say!

It wouldn't have been the toad eating the courgettes, more likely the toad was eating the slugs and snails who were the actual culprits re the courgettes. Personally, I wouldn't have evicted him from the greenhouse, just made sure he could get out if he wanted to!
