The mini tunnel on the raised bed took a right beating in last nights storm, been out all day and haven't dared look inside yet, repositioned the cover, doubt it will last too many more storms like that.

June update

The growhouse:



Tomatoes, strawberries and flower seedlings. The Shirley tomato on the left is now too tall to close the lid, and the peas next door to it have been blown over onto it.

The fruit cage:



Strawberries ready to harvest, blueberries and carrots.

The carrot cage:



Plenty more carrots, calabrese and parsnips.

The landing windowsill:



Loads of peppers coming along (Snackbite red, yellow and orange) plus a purple basil plant.

The indoor tomatoes:



These are all Shirley, 2 sown in January and the remainder in February. Most of the fruit on the January plants is ripe or turning red and the lower trusses of the February sown plants are just starting to turn. The 3 plants on the right of the picture didn't have their canes extended - one of the things I meant to do and forgot. All 3 collapsed under the weight of the higher fruit trusses a couple of days ago. They should be fine, but the fruit will probably not get as big as it would have done if the stems hadn't been bent double like this. I haven't yet found a totally satisfactory way of supporting these, and I am reluctant to damage the walls or ceiling by attaching permanent fixtures.

The upstairs grow lights have been turned off, and the balconi tomatoes on the spare room windowsill will be going outside once the first flush of fruit is over. The downstairs grow lights now house a few lettuces, beans and brassica seedlings (currently chinese cabbage, brokali and broccoli).

July 1st, peas have finished in the tunnel so more room for summer stuff. Tunnel aubergines aren't as tall as those in the GH but are fruiting.
Sungold toms are ripening.

The growhouse



Tomatoes Shirley (left and right) and Megabyte (centre), plus a few strawberries - the one on the left is a framberry which tastes like a cross between strawberry and raspberry. The other plants are flowers. The top is coming off the growhouse today as the tomatoes are getting too tall, including Megabyte which is meant to be a dwarf variety.

The fruit cage



Late strawberries (Malwina), carrots and blueberries, the first of which is starting to turn blue.

Grow Light Garden



Lettuces, seedlings and a chinese cabbage that is soon to end up in a stir fry as I haven't got room for it outside.

Loads of fruit on the snackbite peppers, some of which are turning orange, yellow and red.

The Shirley tomatoes are looking more than a little tired after getting much too hot. Most of the fruit is turning red as a result and soon they should be ready to cut down and hopefully grow some sideshoots for a 2nd crop. That's the plan, anyway...

Loads of sungold from the greenhouse and aubs are still producing. Toms in the lotty tunnel are going mad plus plenty of cukes. Just picked the first lotty aub this morning.

A little untidy at the moment. In desperate need of more canes to support things.
Quite disappointed with my tomatoes this year. Must pay them a lot more attention next year.
Melons ( on the bench ), cucumbers ( back right ) sweet peppers ( middle in fish boxes ) all going brilliantly at the moment. As ever aubergines are getting swamped by everything else.

Carrots have been great in the raised bed, just so so in buckets.

Guttering in need of re sowing, they're all a bit past it now.

In the house

Sitting room:



The 3 plants on the right and one on the far left have finished fruiting and have been cut down. Some are re-growing although its hard to see against the green hedge outside. The other plants have a few fruit left and will be cut down when these are ripe, at which point I will redo the support system!

The landing:



All of the peppers have ripened at once after the hot spell we had in early July. Its a bit of a pain as I am going to have to freeze some. Hopefully I may get a 2nd crop later on.

The grow light garden:



Lettuces, microgreens, brassica seedlings and a very very late tomato sideshoot that I am hoping to grow on in the house, perhaps to fruit in winter if I'm lucky.

The growhouse:



Amazed that one of the Shirley tomatoes is already turning red. The plant next to it is Megabyte, which is supposed to be a dwarf variety but is now nearly 3ft high.

Blueberries are ripening nicely, I just wish the bunches of fruit weren't inhabited by caterpillars.

Sitting room windowsill



The tomato sideshoots are growing but becoming very leggy. A few small fruit have formed though.

Most of the ripe peppers have been eaten, and some more fruit have set. The plants are starting to look a bit tired.

Grow light garden



lettuces, fennel seedlings and miscellaneous brassicas.

Blueberries starting to look a bit autumnal but still plenty of fruit. More lettuces and brassica seedlings on the shelf, with carrots under.

Growhouse



Tomatoes are ripening nicely. Otherwise a dumping ground for excess strawberry plants and a few cuttings.
