First day the GH has sun. Spend a bit of time sealing gaps around the joins and its already hot in there, the GH isnt even in full sun yet and its only apparently 8 deg outide at the moment.
what temperature is too hot? i know it wont be for a while but i might order one of them automatic window openers if i know what to set it to

    cheers

Temp in my GH at the mo is 39.2, with the door open and the automatic window open. Its 11.8 outsiide in the shade.
It doesn't take much sun for your GH to overheat.

Its already between 23 - 26 degrees in my greenhouse, just going into shade and 12.6 degrees outside, It's a wise move to have an automatic vent, I can monitor and open the door at home but on the allotment I put a mesh panel in the door to allow a through draft for when the vents open, and in the summer it's covered in debris netting to reduce the amount of direct sunlight.

You will find the temperature varies at different locations and levels within the greenhouse.

Generally speaking, i think anything over 40 is too hot - I think my automatic vent is set to open at 28.

I can't see any temperature adjustment on my auto openers, I can adjust the amount they open(the cylinder stroke length), but not the temp.

That's the temp adjustment Burnie. Basically wax inside the cylinder expands with heat and pushes on the piston to open the window. Winding the screw thread out means the wax has to expand more before it moves the piston so the vent opens later.

It depends a little on what you're growing. E.g. Chilli peppers like it hotter than tomatoes.
