My new freecycle greenhouse!

Been to collect my new greenhouse from a lovely lady on freecycle, there are a couple of panes missing/broken but other than that its all up together! The bolts all came off without shearing after I gave them a quick blast of dismantling spray while I took the glass out, for the first time novice it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be, now I just need to slab the area its going too and build up the jigsaw, and then wash the panes as I put them back

If I buy the plastic glass replacement panels can I cut it to size? As one is a triangle piece..

Cant wait to get it rebuilt and all my tomatoes and chillies in there now

If you mean Polycarbonate, then yes, you can cut it with a Stanley knife

Polycarbonate would be my choice - double walled if you can afford it - and as Thelma says can be cut easily with a sharp blade... looks like you did pretty well there...

Yes you can cut it with a good sharp knife. BandQ sell the twin wall polycarbonate in large sheets. I had to buy a sheet of it a few years back to replace one that was always blowing out. To be honest I wouldn't have polycarbonate again as I was always losing panels in the wind. I had put extra clips in but it never helped. I had toyed with putting silicone around as well as clips but never got around to it.

I've got a coupe of polycarb replcements in my GH at home - I found that drilling through and then using a nut and washer kept them in place - obviously if the aluminium bracers aren't in the right place for this you'll need to put some wooden battens in or similar - didn't find it too much of a chore.

As has been said, you can go down the polycarb route but personally, I would mark a template out of cardboard then either cut a piece of glass or get a local glazier to do it for you.

- yep if the rest is glass just use glass - on my plot we're not allowed to use glass, that got me in a muddle.
Having said that poycarb would be fine IMHO - so its a matter of choice / price / aesthetics / hassle etc.

Based on price/hassle polycarb would probably be easier an cheaper, when I rebuild it I will be aiming to get all the missing panels on the back section and then replace one area so it doesnt look so mix n matched

stick the back of the GH against a wall or building and use a sheet of wood cut to size
my water butt is inside the GH and im thinking of doing that anyway to make a hole for drainpipe to come inside. Although could do that with poly anyway.

Still a great find in freecyle. I never see anything more than old crt tvs and sofas on the ones in my area enjoy whatever you choose

There was a greenhouse heater on there today but I missed it
