  • Bubble Wrap on roof has great benefits

As usual around this time I start to get my 6'x8' glass green house ready for spring.

Washed down all the glass inside and out side with hot soapy water, amazing how much glass you have to cover !

Then put up a layer of bubble wrap, just on the sloping roof bits, not on the side.
Still the improvement in the temperature is quite noticeable.

Eventually the benches will go in
    Regards
    Jimmy

Mine is full of overwintering pots, so until it's warmer outside I can do very little in mine yet, probably a month away up here yet, then another clean and dig in some manure in the borders. I don't use bubble wrap, but I do have a smallish blow away inside the greenhouse for extra protection of delicates/hardening off earlies like my onions.

Those little plastic framed greenhouse things you see in the garden centres, covered with a green cover with square mesh holding it together. You put one up in the garden........and the wind blows it away. Useless in an exposed garden, but great in a greenhouse up here to keep tender stuff in now and for raising seeds in the spring, mine has 4 shelves in it to give plenty of seed tray space.

          Ahh yes blow away.
My neighbour had a 6x8 greenhouse glazed with that double skin plastic.
Ever Spring he would have to recover it from various neighbours gardens.
Eventually he gave up with it.

I have 2 of these and use both in the greenhouse in Spring

Sometimes I use fleece as well as/or instead of the plastic cover- depending on the weather

I use one in my GH too! Even without the plastic they are great for shelving all your trays of recently sown seeds.

My "seedling" GH (6 x 4) has the shelving from 5 blowaways inside. I bought some cheap just for the shelves.
I used to bubblewrap a GH over winter but its too much faff now - if its going to be really cold I drop bubblewrap over the plants.

                    Cheaper on ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-4-Tie...EAAOSwsBtZ807d

I think most of us would have bought them much cheaper in the Autumn sales, doesn't help if you are wanting one now though.

Yes, Jimmy, summat like that. They're often sold off cheap at the end of the year.
