  • MFB Alternatives

Just thinking about chilli potting up next month (oh and tomato) and went looking for MFB replacements. Last year I used B&W Buckets. Black Pepper - Orange Chilli.

My Local Morrison's is 50 miles away so I popped into Aldi and asked about flower buckets. They return them . Does anyone know if the Coop or Sainsbury sell them on or anyone else for that matter...

Could always do a detour if likely to pick up a few pots at same time....

Going to Need additional 30ish this year......

My Co op does let me have some, but they are supposed to send them back - spose it depends if you are a regular there. Asking for 30 might be a bit OTT though

Didn't expect to get them all in one go.

Any commercial kitchens/ restaurants? (school canteen type affairs) their empty mayo, slaw,ice-cream tubs etc. You could also use their tins but they would have a shorter life span in the garden.

Look in any skips as you drive by one. I can’t help myself personally. The wife doesn’t like it though. In case I bring shame upon the family or something. LOL.

              Kind Regards.............Rob

Have you tried any local florist?

One of the local florist who buys from the large Manchester wholesale market was more than happy to give away some, I should ask her when I see her today what they normal do with them and if it's of any loss to them.

Bit like Terminator - The rise of the supermarket - & petrol station or should that be the close of the florist.
