My DIY Cold Frame

My kitchen window is at a useless angle for the sun so I've spent the last couple of evenings building a cold frame out of some decking and perspex that I managed to scrounge from the parents.

Super pleased with it, hopefully it doesn't fall apart too soon

looks like a bang-up job - if you haven't already, you might want to add some sort of adjustable prop to the front so you can vary how much you leave it open on sunny days.

Yups pretty good. It is important to be able to open it though and keep it open so as Nickdub suggests, use your inventive construction powers. You've done pretty good so far

Thanks all! I hadn't put the opening arms on when I took the photo, but I have now One on each side that just holds the window up a bit. One holds it so that it's 3-4 inches open to let a bit of air in, and the other holds the window horizontal for when it's scorching outside. Put my squashes and tomatoes in it for the last couple of days (back inside at night though) and they seem to be enjoying it!
