  • Tomato/potato blight?

Just wondering....has anyone had any problems with blight so far this year?

I think I have the first signs on my tomatoes but my potatoes all had it earlier. I cut down all of the haulms and the potatoes are still underground.

How does it start? I've got a brown patch on the stem around where a leaf has dropped of about a foot from the soil. On others, mainly Tigerella the ends of the leaves right on the tomato itself are dying back to the stem.
I've never had this happen so any pointers welcome.....unless it is B****T.

An old thread with many pictures missing, but there are enough there to work out if you have blight or not

Thanks Nicos, I searched but it didn't turn that thread up. Doesn't seem to have affected any main leaves, just the stem and flower leaves so may be imagining it.
            Fingers crossed.

Have you got a photo it sounds like blight unless the stems had some damage to cause a brown mark? If it’s blight it will quickly cause more dead looking areas & spores can travel to the next plant.

Missed a reply to this. It turned out that mine was a bruise from when it was windy and another tub was blown onto it, also took a leaf with it and opened a wound. The stem dried out right through so I culled it yesterday, no other plants affected.
