  • Catching up

I was getting fed up with the carrots and beetroot, all top growth and very little under the soil, well , after 3 weeks of cool, wet weather they now seem to be catching up, they had not gone short of water but this constant wet weather has saved me using up the last of the water from my big waterbutts, so tomorrow we will start picking the larger roots and let the rest grow on, considering spring didn't start til mid may and the weather went cold/wet at the start of august , it will be one of our shortest ever summers, even though we actually got good sun this year..and they are catching up,,

[QUOTE=goosander;1616937]Hi Buffs it is summer now. Not feel the warm

that's how we usually tell what the season is, if the rain is warm it is june/july, if it is cold it is august, september, october, november, december, January, February, march, april, may, easy peasy, or as the telly rats say "simples"...if you feel the sun ,you must be away on your hols, if you feel the cold, you are back off your hols, elementary my dear Watson..

What's this rain and sun stuff, we seem to get dull dry most of the time and flippin' cauld in the winter(which might start in the next week or so, bit of a frost in the Glens last night apparently.

Every year is different. That's what makes gardening interesting!

to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)
